Dear Isaac,
I have been feeling like we have a lot in common, but then I think, (and I hope I am saying this correctly, with utmost sincerity, and without seeming stuck-up or aloof) that the main reason I like this particular site (blog? Forum? Back-and-forth electro-chatter? I don’t really know the right computer lingo… I’m scared of Facebook!) is because I have no idea what you look like, how old you are, where you live, if your Mama really named you Isaac, or even if you have XY or XX chromosomes… and there is absolutely no need for me (or anyone else) to know these things when we (you and I, Maria, and the other folks on this place) are trying our best to talk about The Most High without being crass or whiny or self-pitying, etc.
I am a human too… I’m not overly well educated and I live in a small redneck town in ‘other-than-California’, USA. I’m a real guy, not some computer weirdo.
I have an old disgusting ca.1977 protestant flea-market ‘sign’ complete with badly painted pansy-flowers in a broken plastic-brass frame hanging behind my toilet… Its hideous… But I put it there (long before I knew the better way to ‘wake up praying’) so it would be the first thing I saw/read in the ‘morning’.
The terrible goopy cursive handwriting on it says, (Psalm 118:24) “This is the day The Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it…”
It’s soooooo ‘Baptist Sunday School/pop-Christian’, but it’s a very good verse to read while doing what every human does shortly after waking, and even though my morning pee sign is nasty looking, I leave it there, because it says the truth.
