In reply to <a href="https://orthodoxandgay.com/you-are-my-son#comment-77184">Bob</a>.

Hello,
Thank you for your email. I still attend Liturgy regularly and do commune. I have a spiritual father who offers me confession and communion. Please know that God loves you and knows how He made you and with what desires and inclinations. Do not marry a woman, unless you are straight or a true bisexual and ready to make a commitment to one woman. Otherwise you would ruin her life and yours. If you are truly called to celibacy - then you need to explore that - by going to a monastery for a retreat or taking with a priest. If you believe that you are called to be married to a man, then pray on it, give God and you time to adjust and be open to the path He directs you to. We can be in the desert for a while - or what seems like a while - but God knows what we need. Listen to His voice and ask for direction, guidance and patience.
Please know that you will be in my prayers.
Please stay in touch.
I bid you peace,
Andriy

Father,

If I may ask your advice: what do you do as a gay married man and Orthodox Christian? Do you still attend liturgy and commune?

I can't bear the thought of leaving the Church--I know she is true--, but the thought of not being able to love and give love to another person also hurts me immensely. Sometimes I think I should martyr myself in marriage to a woman or be celibate, but all I can see in both paths is a vast amount of misery.
